The NCOA Scholarship Fund is one of the most important entities within the Association. Established in 1970, its single purpose is to help dependents of NCOA members to continue their education beyond high school. To date, the Scholarship Fund has awarded nearly $1.3 million in non-repayable scholarships.
To be eligible, applicants must be the children or spouses of current members of the Non Commissioned Officers Association. Awards not limited by race, color, creed, national origin, or sex. For undergraduate study at accredited colleges and universities. Children of members must be under age 25 to receive initial grant. For sons and daughters of NCOA members, an application must include the completed application, two letters of recommendation from teachers/counselors, a personal recommendation from a non-related adult, a handwritten autobiography, a certified transcript of high school or college grades, ACT or SAT grade, and a composition on Americanism. For spouses of NCOA members, application must include the completed application, a copy of a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a certified transcript of any college courses completed, a certificate for any other courses of training, a brief biographical background, and a letter of intent describing degreed course of study, plan for completion of a degreed program, and a closing paragraph "What a College Degree Means to Me".
