Criteria varies for each different scholarship. Check the website for specific guidlines for each scholarship.

General eligibility:

Graduating high school seniors who are pursuing four-year institution, two-year institution, or trade/technical programs, are eligible to apply if they meet all of the following criteria:

  • Currently an OUSD high school senior
  • Attended an OUSD public or charter school at least the last two years
  • Complete the FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application by the March 2nd priority deadline
  • Plan to attend four-year institution, two-year institution, or trade/technical program in the fall following your graduation from high school

 IMPORTANT NOTE: MFEF has structured the scholarship applications for MOST of the programs it administer so that only ONE application is required.   If you are planning to apply for or already have applied for the:  1.  making REAL change Scholarship; 2. East Bay CAN Scholarship or; 3.  College Bound Brotherhood Scholarship, you will only need to complete ONE of these applications in order to be considered for any that you are eligible for.  If you are interested in the $5,000 Craig Sullivan Scholarship you MUST complete the making REAL change  application.
