East Bay College Fund grants $16,000 scholarships to be awarded over four years ($4,000 per year). Selected Scholars must meet the following criteria:Senior attending an Oakland or Emeryville public high school and graduating in Spring. Demonstrates: Academic preparation to attend college; ability to overcome obstacles to achieve academic and personal goals; quality involvement with others via work, school, family, community; documented financial need; will be attending a four-year accredited college or university in the U. S. Exceptions: students with documented admission to a college/university. Cumulative 3.0 grade point average (GPA) to maximum 3.7 GPA.

Note: cumulative GPA's slightly above or below these numbers will be considered if accompanied by compelling circumstances. Must be available for an in-person interview on the scheduled date. Must be available to attend the Great Expectations Awards Ceremony in the Spring.

Note: Students who receive the Berkeley Incentive Award or a similar large scholarship for the college they plan to attend, become ineligible for a Great Expectations Award. Call East Bay College Fund with questions (510.594.4004).
