Specifics: This year, CHispPA will award four, $1,000 scholarships to deserving Latino students who are continuing their education. To be eligible for a scholarship, you must meet the following criteria: Be a student of Latino Heritage; be a student under one of the two classifications: (1) a graduating high school senior, who lives in select Bay Area county* and intends to enroll in a college or University or (2) a student attending a community college or 4-year college in select Bay Area county* and has completed a minimum of 12 semester units or 18 quarter units; and have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Applicants will be evaluated on the following selection criteria: Academic record; financial need toward education costs; community service; essay responses; and letter of recommendation. Note: Students who are selected to receive a scholarship will be required to commit to volunteering a minimum of 8 hours to support CHispPA events and planning meetings over the course of the upcoming academic year.
