Specifics:
This scholarship is renewable and intended for undergraduate study at qualifying California postsecondary institutions. Applicant must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident or eligible non-citizen as defined by federal financial aid programs and residing in California. Applicant must demonstrate financial need and high academic achievement. Continuing college students (current freshmen, sophomores and juniors) must submit FAFSA to federal processor and GPA Verification Form to California Student Aid Commission. Both forms must be postmarked by March 2. Applicants must have income and assets below established levels. Must have minimum 2.0 GPA. Competitive grant program awards used for same purpose as entitlement grants but not guaranteed to all applicants. Cal Grant A awards intended to help low- and middle-income families pay tuition and fees. Cal Grant B awards up to $1,551 to disadvantaged and low-income families toward living expenses and costs for transportation, supplies and books. Students with no available GPA can submit SAT, ACT or GED scores. Deadlines: March 2, for continuing college students; September 2, for California Community College students.
